Trolling Motor Autopilot Interaction

Is it possible to take the compass and heading data from an i-pilot link from a minn kota or pinpoint GPS from a motor guide to realize the autopilot functions and program as such from opencpn?

So far I'm leaning more towards the motor guide pinpoint gps being the more workable solution.

I seem to think these types of motors would be ideal auto pilots especially for boats with extra electricity generation options.

I know the motor guide trolling motor has to update and lowrance mfd and they talk back and forth and then after that the autopilot function works between the two.

Is there any way to integrate that into opencpn so we can use simple autopilot from trolling motor?

I am not familiar with A/P steerable trolling motors.

Here is one that sums things up nicely. I try finding more technical information but fail. Everything does end up on a nema 2000 network so I was thinking of trying this with a vesper 8000, lowrance 4g and an xi5 model.
