Hello !
Using OpenCpn v2.2.809 yesterday, I had drawn 3 routes and used routeManager to ad title and some other informations (from, to)... And then closed OpenCpn.
When opening it today, it still displays these routes.
But when I click on routemanager button, OpenCpn becomes fadded and windows7 says it stopped working and closes the program...
Is this a known problem ??
Thanks

Hello again !
Grib files : I heard that opencpn uses Zygrib-engine to display gribfiles.
Few months ago, I noticed that Zygrib could not display gribfiles collected from maxseachopper. Zygrib analysed the problem and improved his program... Which allows now to have grib files from GFS but also Wave3...
Is it possible for OpenCPn to use actual zygribengine ??
Thanks

I cannot find much information on Inland AIS. Any links, info, raw data, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Dave

I am still trying to collect data, but in the meantime i want attend you to this site:
Ais Decoder

It is for me more easy to forward live data over TCP to a portnumber. You get than realtime data from the Amsterdam Area and inland waters.

With regards, Jugo

OpenCPN Beta Build 823

Hello Testers!

OpenCPN Beta Version 2.2.823 is available for testing today.

Changelog:
38. Correct MSW bug concerning language selection after chart directory addition/deletion.
39. Implement PlugInManager GUI (Toolbox->PlugIns).
40. Implement local caching of cm93 chart outlines for improved performance.
41. Implement delayed calculation of Route Leg Rollover trigger.
42. On Linux and Mac builds, modify libgps search and load to use ONLY libgps.so.19
43. Add Estonian language support
44. Increase RouteManagerDialog Icon column width (FS#21 redux)
45. Correct AIS Rollover text from "degree symbol" to "Deg". (FS#5 redux)
46. Correct Win7 crash in RouteManagerDialog
47. Update Dashboard PlugIn
48. Correct chart database logic for duplicate chart removal.
49. Correct crash occurring when deleting route containing mark for which MarkPropDialog is shown. (FSStable #27)

Release Beta 823

git repo updated.
Windows installer application to be available "shortly". Earth calling Gunther!

Notes:
39. PlugIn Manager GUI. Simple, could do a lot more. Comments appreciated. PlugIn authors please note a very slight change to API regarding descriptive text strings shown in the GUI. I have already appropriately patched the 4 PlugIns in git.
46. An attempt to correct a difficult-to-reproduce bug. Win7 users encouraged to test and report results. Thanks to Fred Babian for debugging this issue in situ.
47. Thanks to SethDart. Interested users please join in the separate thread to help refine the functions of this PlugIn. Artists especially encouraged.
48. Under some conditions, the wrong chart is selected when two or more charts have the same filename but different Edition dates. In other conditions, both charts are selected. The code should select the most recent of two chart files having the same name, wherever they appear in the file tree, and whatever the order of specified directories in the Toolbox->Charts dialog..

I would appreciate it if the original posters of Flyspray tasks addressed by this Beta release could update those tasks with comments indicating the current state of "their" bugs. Fixed, or still broken? Thanks.

Thanks in advance for the testing and reports.

Dave

Installed fine on my Win 7 64bit box.

I couldn't imagine what the problem might be.
As XP and Win 7 are very much the same from the installers point of view.

Have you tried to install it again?
Does it always crash at the same position of the installation?

Are you installing over an existing version?
If so, tried to delete it first?

Sorry, I only running Win 7 32Bit and everything works just fine.

On XP and Win7 64 bit.

When looking around the tool box, everything OK. But if at any point I go to the "Charts" tab, (don't click anything), when clicking OK from the tool box (doesn't matter what tab I'm currently on), it does a chart scan anyway. Not a rebuild, just a scan.

On my machine with 30gb of charts, quad core, 6 gb ram, this takes 4.5 minutes.

Then you are lucky ..., I cannot even start the program if the config dir already exists.

It seems that the pre-existing config dir isn't recognized by the program because it pops up the "Welcome" Message.

Dacust....

Is this new behavior for 2.2.823? There should be no change in this version regarding directory scanning....

How are you chart directories organized? One big dir, or several?

The reason it does what it does is in order to pick up changes in the chart directories, most often due to recent downloads of updated NOAA charts. These charts generally go into BSB_ROOT or ENC_ROOT, and overwrite the existing file. We need a scan to look for changes in the file record dates.

I suppose we could change it so that directory scans are only done it the user selects the "Rebuild.." option.

Comments?

Gunther....

Thanks for the Windows build. I am now at GMT-4. Sorry.
Can you elaborate on the failure to start with existing config file?

Thanks
Dave

I got the welcome message, but it works fine. I installed over previous without checking the box to remove configuration.

Dan/Gunther....

The "Welcome" message pops up whenever the version number of the running copy does not match the last recorded version number in the config file.

That way, we (almost) guarantee that the message will be seen by everyone at least once.
