Thanks Chuck, this fixed it for me. I too had the startup crash on XP-32bit.
After deleting ..\Application Data\opencpn\CHARTLIST.DAT opencpn rebuilt the chart database and started successfully.

Hmmm.....
Lets see if we can reproduce this fault in a controlled way.
1. Remove 2.2.808
2. Install previous version. (whatever you were using....)
3. Build new database(smallish). Verify it works OK.
4. Install 2.2.808. Run, and watch it crash.
5. Rename CHARTLIST.DAT to CHARTLIST.SAV
6. Run 2.2.808 again, and watch it succeed.
7. If all this happens as projected, send me a copy of CHARTLIST.SAV so I may debug.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave
I haven't done the test you requested yet, but when we were testing the _USE_32BIT_TIME_T issue, I had to delete CHARTLIST.DAT to get the 64bit time version to run.

Windows testers....
OK, I can reproduce this fault by reverting to 2.1.0, and then upgrading to 2.2.808 without deleting the config files. I am researching now. Expect an update tonight.
Stay tuned
Dave

OpenCPN Beta Build 2.2.809
Testers....
A quick fix to 808 is available for download:
http://opencpn.org/downloads/beta/op....809_setup.exe
Changelog:
37. Correct time_t size problem in chart database ondisk image.
Release Beta 809
Notes:
37. Our old friend, sizeof(time_t). Affects upgrades to 2.2.808 using older (??) chart database. Fixed in 809.
Those users who got 808 to work by deleting CHARTLIST.DAT will need to delete it again before running build 809. Sorry.
Sorry for the speedbump. That's Beta testing, though....
Good Luck
Dave

To confirm. I did not delete CHARTLIST.DAT (either time).
809 works.

Dear Dave,
I tested the V2.2 for a few months and is working very well!
Only one issue seems to be left.
In Europe we have now thousands inland carco ships equiped with a special Inland-AIS, this is a class-A AIS with additional functions.
OpenCPN shows class-B and class-A correctly, but Inland-AIS is only showed with the MMSI and no other information like shipsname or dimensions?
If you want or need raw data from a Inland-AIS give a shout.
With regards, Jugo

Jugo...
Thanks for the report.
I cannot find much information on Inland AIS. Any links, info, raw data, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Looking back at my old FS#2, where nohal, Tuesday, 20 July, made the comment

Fixed in the rules github repository

There is obviously no system in place, where nohals changes to vector charts are merged into the "git master"?
This error is still present in 809.

Thomas....
The pull and push of Nohal's S52 symbology is not automatic.
I actually thought that sourceforge opencpn git was current on this.
Please remind me again where I can get the latest from Nohal and I will push it..
Is your 2 way DW route symbol correctly rendered in Nohal's latest?

Dave,
nohal's RleData at master - GitHub
master has the most "stable" rules while the branches contain testing and integration stuff.
You have the most recent rules in your mailbox as well.

Ptizef....
Thanks for the feedback. I have closed the indicated Flyspray tasks.
Unfortunately, FS#21 is an internal problem with wxWidgets, seen on Windows platforms only. I hope when we move to wxWidgets Version 3 that this will be fixed....
Thanks again
Dave
