Re: OpenCPN General

I think I mention this problem for Pavel some time ago but I mention it again in the hope it will be fixed soon.

It concerns the export of the wpt window contents of the Route Manager.
Every time I edit or add a POI in my BRAZIL POIS.gpx file I have to export EACH POI individually as there is no multiple export facility. If you use the Export all visible, then EVERYTHING visible on you screen AND MORE are added to my BRAZIL POIS.gpx file, rendering it useless. Surely this latter Export all visible should pertain to the contents of the present wpt window in the Route Manager and not to ANYTHING on your screen?

The only possible, and very time consuming way is to use XML Copy Editor after you have exported each Individual new POI to the layers directory and MANUALLY add them to the original BRAZIL POIS.gpx file.

I hope this will be rectified soon in the next beta....

Re: OpenCPN General

Tore...
Don't you worry, I was just working on it as you posted and the code is commited now...
BTW, until there's a new release out, I would suggest a little better workflow for you (one that does not include editing anything in a XML editor and saving each object separately...)
Make a backup of your stuff
Delete everything
Import just the, say, Brazil layer stuff
Make your changes
Use export all - It will give you the new version of the layer
Delete all
Reimport your normal set of navobjects

This is how I was doing this stuff, until now...

Re: OpenCPN General

Thanks Pavel..

But,this is the way I used to do it in previous versions:

At startup there are NO WPT's in the WPT area of the Route Manager,so no need to delete all.

1.Import the group Brazil POI.gpx file into the WPT area
2.Add the new POI or edit existing POI
3.Export ALL
4.Delete all
5. Re-start OCPN

NOW, all the new/edited POI's would appear on the map.

Presently,if you do this, your Brazil POI group file would contain all the POI's of the world!

I await the new updates....

Re: OpenCPN General

Hi Folks

I have loaded up the latest commit's and compiled them here and the feature you have been discussing - exporting the waypoints is working perfectly under UBUNTU 12.10. for me at least.

I am glad that you have added this into this version - Which I think is excellent BTW.

This certainly helps with creating and modifying route files - to be able to "clean up" different routes and activities that you may be wanting to do within the software now is going to save me some real time.

I have been testing this version non stop under UBUNTU and it is really quite stable and quick to boot with the CM93 R2 complete chart set installed.

Thanks ever so much keep up the great work team.

Smooth Sailing

Have we been hacked?

Just noticed this on the news page. Why is it here?

Terry....

That seems to be an old, hacked page on the server. Not the true opencpn top page. Dunno where it came from...

Check your URL. Should be:

OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage

Cleared the Firefox cache and followed your link (same as mine). Takes you to the :About OpenCPN' page. Clicked on the 'News' tab and still get the hacked page.

I didn't do any searching. Don't know why you would ask

Terry, went over your head I guess. It was a joke. Never mind.

Have you read the 'Readme.html' file in the uncompressed GE2KAP folder?

If you have and still have questions please re-post.
