OpenCPN for Mac

I have made a Beta version of OpenCPN-2.3.1 for Intel Macs. You can download it from: http://www.opencpn.joat.co.uk/OpenCPN.zip

Apart from verifying that all the major functions work, it has not been rigorously tested. I look forward to your feedback!

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

Great work! This has also been added to the http://opencpn.org/download page. I look forward to hearing from mac people about this build. Also, if anyone with a mac could post a some nice screenshots, I will publish them on the opencpn.org site.

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

yea! I don't seem to have any tide or current data show up. All other features seem to work. Plugins ok. Zoom, measure, route, quilt all worked. I am using Snow Lep.

malcolmh,

wondering if you might comment about the lack of tide and current info...

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

Doug, I have noted your report, but it may take some time to fix it. Patience!

Another problem that has been reported is that the first time OpenCPN is run, the windows are positioned too high to reveal the grab bar. (I see from your screenshots that you have this problem)

This is cured by quitting & restarting.

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

I also note that the Apple minimize-maximize-close buttons are missing; must be the grab bar issue you speak of. Restarting hasn't solved it for me. Still no grab bar.

Didn't mean to rush or sound impatient, just didn't know if you saw that bug. Great work so far! Very excited to have a working version on my Mac.

hmmm. I still can't get the grab bar to show. Tried completely restarting my machine, but no luck. I'm using OSX 10.6.6

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

Doug, it seems that others were in the same boat as you. However, a fix has been found. I have uploaded the re-built app & sources.

Please give it a try & report back.

Re: OpenCPN for Mac

This looks interesting to any MAC vs. PC user, but what exactly does the OpenCPN-2.3.1 do and with what systems?

You might try moving the dock menu to the side, and also putting it in the hide mode. This will give more screen space.

Yup, that fixed it.

That was happening to me too, even after I downloaded the re-build fix. All I did was open "Plug-ins", then I disabled it, re-enabled it and it works fine now.
