Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.719 Released

OCPN crashed when activating the GRIB plugin.
This occur every time I change to "Local Time" in the GRIB plugin.

Also it does not seems like the crash report won't send.
It could be due to the fact that it tries to send on port 25... Wich normaly is blocked to others that is not inside the same ISP network as the mailserver.

The crashlog (exported zip) is to big to be posted in the forum.

I can't repeat your crash on Linux!

As stated in the 3.3.604 release notes, the "Send Report" option is not (yet) implemented, that's why it's not working.

Try to stick a .pdf at the end of the zip-file. That will allow ~550kb as an attachment.

Try as I might, I just cannot get into the /flyspray/ section of the project.

Can someone please add "User-definable arrival radius in routes"

Thanks so much...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.719 Released

I fail to send a mail from the grib plugin to Saildocs on Linux.
I get this message back from my mailer deamon
Quote:
A message that you sent contained no recipient addresses, and therefore no delivery could be attempted.
Searching a bit on the net points to the -t command line argument for sendmail. Deleting this argument, and recompiling, nothing at all seems to happen.
Has anyone had any luck with getting a grib this way?
There may be some problem with my local mail setup, even though I have no recollection of doing anything but a default installation...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.719 Released

I can not speak for Linux but it takes me a while to setup sendmail (aka postfix at Mac OS X) to have it working on Mac OS X. Other Linux users said sendmail is a pain and horrible...

IMHO it is not the best solution to use sendmal/postfix for this task in the grib plugin, finally not for zyGrib while saildocs needs of course a mail request.

Ubuntu doesn't use sendmail as such. It's Exim but /usr/sbin/sendmail points to exim.
Quote:
$ ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 Apr 9 19:08 /usr/sbin/sendmail -> exim4
It's all a bit confusing .....

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.719 Released

Folks...

I acknowledge the crash on grib Preferences dialog in Windows. It happens when you change the time zone reference (UTC or Local) immediately after enabling the PlugIn.

Workaround: Activate the PlugIn, without touching the Preferences dialog just yet. Then close Options, and open the Grib file selector dialog (left-click on Grib icon). If you need to change Grib preferences, you may then do Options->Plugins->Grib->Preferences.

In other words, try to change Grib time-zone preferences only while the Grib file selector dialog is open.

Easy fix, next Beta.
Also, it was very easy to isolate the root cause of this kind of crash with a Crash Dump, and very difficult without. Keep 'em coming

Thanks
Dave

Dave/Pavel..

Yes,the previous v. did something to my POI files for sure, but then again you DID warn me...
The latest version is working fine now and I have updated most of the erroneous .gpx POI files. Thanks!!

Thanks I had an account, it was the www prefix, I got in when I used this url: OpenCPN::Tracker All Projects: Tasklist but the link from "TRACKER" has the www in front.

Thanks Cagney...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.719 Released

With parallel installations of Version 3.2.2 and 3.3.719, after closing 3.3.719 then launching 3.2.2 the Google Earth plugin in 3.2.2 is automatically activated.

Going the other way does the same thing if the GE plugin in 3.3.719 is enabled.

Running on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Disabling the GE plugin keeps this from happening.

Dave
couple of other unnatural behaviours, 3.3.710 on Mac OS 10.7.5

Quilting on is OK, passing cursor over chart bar turns each chart in quilt reddish but with quilting off there is no thumbnail or chart info shown as you hover over.

When selecting CM93 in chart bar the detail slider window flickers briefly then disappears behind the main window an cant be fetched out.
