Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

Quote:
Alarm :

With 3.2.2, I can choice alrm wav file and I can test this alarm.
With 3.3.604, I can choice alarm wav file but I cannot test it.
Watchman is found under "Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.424" the files are titled
watchman_win32_pi110_v04-1_pi.dll, - no test alarm
watchman_win32_pi110_v04-1_pi.dll, with test alarm watchman_win32_pi110_v04-2_pi.dll with test alarm, revert some code.

From the readme:
Quote:
Watchman-README.txt watchman_win32_pi110_v03_pi.dll - is working with GPS alarm, basic version
watchman_win32_pi110_v04_pi.dll - GPS alarm works, Test button for alarm sound, expand and contracts, highlights alert in red. watchman_win32_pi110_v04-2_pi.dll - GPS alarm work too. Test button for alarm sound, expands and contracts for alarms, highlights alert in red

Requires Opencpn3.3.424

Note: Version 04-2 is the same as v04 but with one line of code changed back June11 "fix bug" in watchman_pi.cpp

I reverted back to previous, the following:
if(mb) { wxMessageDialog mdlg(m_parent_window, _("ALARM!!!!"), - wxString(_("Watchman"), wxOK | wxICON_ERROR)); + _("Watchman"), wxOK | wxICON_ERROR); mdlg.ShowModal();
Note the pi110 in the title, please. That is a Plugin API number 1.10 which does not run in Opencpn 3.2.0. but evidently it does. Additionally the plugin was put in a directory with "Opencpn-3.3.424" in the title. Plugins should be forward compatible only. I will check the plugin again and update it. It works for me in v3.3.604 and v3.3.424. The poblem is I no longer have a v3.3.424 to recompile the plugin....

Code:
Weather routing :
With 3.3.604 and last weather routing dll, I have a message which speak to climatology. See screen copy.
Gilletarom, in "Opencpn Beta Login" with File Thingie, under "Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.604" download the Opencpn.exe and crashrpt files and put them in your main opencpn directory (also noted in the instructions)

Regarding your Climatology installation:
Provided the download of Climatology-Data-5 was successful, and you installed the data under "plugins/climatology/data/" as instructed, and provided you download the ov320 version of Climatology in the same directory, the plugin should run in Opencpn-3.2.0.

(Gilletarom, I think you need to get your land legs back! Give this a break for a day or two, and just relax. Then come back to it. We all have these kinds of days) --friends? - I have great respect for all French sailors, irrational, but true.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

Rick

You are doing a lot of good work here! The problem is if users have two different versions with the same name. Even if they read the instructions, confusion is easy, especially a few days later. Perhaps we (Dave), should nail down a naming standard in cases like this.

Meanwhile it's easy enough to change the "VERSION.cmake" file.
For example change this line the line
SET(VERSION_PATCH "604001")

With this result.

Name:   version1.png
Views: 280
Size: 13.5 KB

The main thing is a version that can't be confused with the official beta.

Thanks, still learning. I guess I could rename the file itself too and have users change it. Where will I find VERSION.cmake? -dumb question, I can search.

I think I am going to delete Watchman version 03 and version 4-2 on file thingie for the same reason.

Thanks.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

I've renamed the directory "Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.604-001
and have recompiled, renamed and uploaded two of the files so that the sub version number appears 3.3.604001.

Does this file VERSION.cmake have to be changed every time a do a GIT pull?

---Lots to remember...I'm not infallible either. Hope this makes people happier.

I think that the best thing to do, for most beta tester, is to wait with the testing of these plugins until the next beta release of OpenCPN.
I hope what I have done now with the new version number has addressed the problem and BETA testers of Climatology, Wx-Routing, Watchman, and rtldsr will go ahead and test. Sean and I will very much appreciate it.

Got lots of other things to do now...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

RCLeason, the last few days, I spent several hours to understand what to do. Do not say I did not read the manual. That said, my English being what it is, ie poor, I did not understand everything can be

See the screenshots below.

Traditionally, when it is a mess, I clean everything and I made a complete new installation. I did often. But here tonight, I do not want to. This is the first time in three years. Tomorrow I leave the Netherlands. Tomorrow night I sleep in my boat. Tuesday I sail.

I'll be back probably later.

Best regards, Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

Gillatarom, Have a wonderful sail. I am very sorry you had troubles and will try to clear up any instruction difficulties with you on your return. It looks to me that you have the data in exactly the correct place, and it looks like the right date. 6/10/2013.

I hope your reinstall is working for your voyage ok. It should not be necessary to reinstall to get the plugins working, and I will help you when you get back if you are still having difficulty.

Best
Rick

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

Gillatarom, I reread what I wrote and must correct it a little:
Quote:
Regarding your Climatology installation:
Provided the download of Climatology-Data-5 was successful, and you installed the data under "plugins/climatology/data/" as instructed, and provided you download the ov320 version of Climatology in the same directory, the plugin should run in Opencpn-3.2.0.
Actually with the Climatology_win32_pi19_v02-5_ov320_pi.dll any Opencpn version including v3.2.0 forward should work fine.
Plugins are forward compatible.

There is also a Climatology_win32_pi19_v02-5_ov33604_pi.dll which is intended for use with weather_routing and Opencpn v3.3.604 forward, current this requires use of the opencpn.exe (v3.3.604001) and crashrpt files in the related directory for Plugin-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.604001. Of course both of these plugins are compatible moving forward from v3.3.604001.

See the directories we are talking about here. use rguser, rgpass

@Dave: we're at anchor for a few days now but will have another longish day toward the end of the week. I'll make that change and check in again. FWIW here's another crash dump from yesterday.

Bob...

Thanks for the crash report.
Crash happened in exactly the same place as the previous report.

Disabling Options->Display->"Show Depth Units" will prevent this crash, at least.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.604 Released

Does your laptop have wifi receiver?
Does the iphone send over wifi?
If so, you can probably do it, but you will have to read up and learn how.
