With NGA Pilot Charts loaded (set of 12 charts, 1 per each month) zooming in or out always switches to the January chart (first on the list).

This occurs in previous Betas as well, but not in 3.2.2 stable.

I might suggest using Climatology instead? but of course these charts should work.

With this release, I continually have the waypoint properties box popping up. It always pops up with a waypoint that has been deleted. When I dismiss the box, it stays away for 10-20sec and then pops back up. Sometimes dismissing it crashes the application.

This is the MacOS version.

There has been quite a bit of development in the quilting area in 3.3.
If it's easy to revert to the old behavior, without any side-effects - fine. But, I have no problems with the present state. There is no point with quilting, in it self for the Pilot Charts.
The pilot charts are a very special case. 12 almost identical charts (from OpenCPNs point of view). Not quite identical though, as there is a hack regarding the scale to guarantee that the charts always line up in the right order in the chart-bar.
Just hit "F9", and view the pilot charts in single chart mode.

Thanks for the tip and the explanation. Perhaps some of the setup parameters, like Single Chart Mode, might be preset for a given Chart Group? Maybe there are other attributes that could make up a viewing profile? The Chart Group mechanism certainly carries more potential...

I do have the Climatology Plugin installed as well, and it is certainly one of the most attractive ones... I use it most often for viewing the cyclone tracks. But for sea currents information I find the Pilot Charts more readable. Also the windroses typography looks nicer to me in the NGA (or Clarke's) charts, if zoomed right. The Pilot Charts are simpler to install, require no customization for typical applications, and with the Chart Groups function are very easy to use now. So they are not obsolete at all...

As usual, as I normally use O, everything seems to work well .

I stress-tested usb gps connection ie: hot plug-unplug without any problem.
I connected a bluetooth gps (Royaltek) without any problem. W7 seems to have a better "stack" than XP .
I am not seeing a large effect from the "Chart-Quilting Bias Control" but It is a good idea. Perhaps the name above makes more sense where -/+ are replaced with small scale /large scale as a "bias" per quilting. I have several names for it Quilt Clutter Control perhaps. I'm looking for what is called? "mouth feel" here...hahah
I think I would use -5 the most given a preliminary test on a 1280x720 screen. And I hope it is set-and-forget per the machine's screen. (I never see my cm93 unless I click them on the chart bar or zoom waaay "out".)

I think I will continue to use "Hide Chart" on the chart bar for nuisance charts that can't be excluded from a group...but this Quilting Bias control will lessen that resort.

A second report from me on the Chart Zoom Detail Level, on a different computer:

Windows 7, 15.5", 1333*768 (~=100 DPI)

The -3 setting is best, just as it was on the bigger/denser screen.

On the other hand, on a Linux virtual machine on the same hardware that needed -3 in my first report, I find the ideal would be somewhere between -1 and -2. Odd.

This evening, I tryed the plugin watchDog. Crash when I try to choice an alarm sound. Crash and crash report. The sends crash report seems to have failed.

Hello Dave,

For several days I'm testing with O 332302 (parallel installation). I installed O 332302, GE2KAP and VMH charts. Nothing to do. This has caused no problems and, in particular, no abnormal message like the one we are interested.

I also installed Tcurrent. I observed that when launching Tcurrent, a process is started and the process is not closed by stopping Tcurrent or by stopping OpenCPN. This process is called "Ekag20nt.exe."

I tried various scenarios launch O, O stopped, stopped the PC, restarted the PC. Even O. revived by clicking on the icon options, nothing.

In any case, I do not get the strange message that interested us.

The only thing I would suggest is that when the O stop the process "Ekag20nt.exe" be also stopped.

CM93 buoy numbers aren't displayed on my system with 3.3.2302.

They may have been displayed briefly but I've re-installed and no joy.

They are displayed on 3.3.1606.

I think the climatology plugin is currently something like vector pilot charts. For this reason it may not have a lot of data available that could be on a raster pilot chart. Pilot charts in the detail level the climatology plugin provides would be hundreds of megabytes. The two can complement each other.
