Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

On my OSX 10.10 system my ownship.png icon in UserIcons is not used.
I have copied my old UserIcons directory to ~/Library/Preferences/opencpn

I can select the icons (even ownship) in the properties in a waypoint so the icons are available to OpenCPN.

Do I miss something simple??

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

When using the menu and right click for hiding/ showing icons in the menu, the menu auto hides wey quickly even if you are working with the menu and have the "visible buttons" dialog active.

The menu should not auto hide if a menu dialog os ongoing.

Windows XP tested.

You can change the timeout of autohide in the Options->User Interface dialog. Default is 2 seconds.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

.... sorry, if I have overlooked something, but I tried to install the new beta and got numerous messages indicating that several (if not all) plugins are "not compatible" with this release of OpenCPN. I know, I have the latest (officially available) versions installed. Do you have any hint, do I just have to re-install these plugins or is there a general problem?

Also, I realized that the 4.1.602-setup.exe is just 24.something MB in size while the "old" version 4.0.0 is at least 28 MB in size. could it be, that there is a wrong version in the download area??

I upgraded from 4.0.0 and run Windows 7.0 with all fixes to the latest level.

Thanks for any help,

best regards, Uwe

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Uwe...
Yes, we do. Read this very thread, especially post #2
The same information is also available on the very top of PlugIns | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Can I do something more to make this information obvious?

And there is no problem with the installation package, we simply saved a few megabytes by changing the way it is created.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Dear Pavel,

prompt and precise anwer as always......

No, I do not think yu can make this mor obvious, maybe for some ignorant like me you could make this flashing or a music playing or ....

Sorry to have bothered you, but you see, having used these pages for so long, I do no longer bother to read the headlines....

As usual the problem sits in front of the screen .....
(at least I could have had a look before writing...)

Best regards, Uwe

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Or Sometimes TBD "To be determined"

Have compiled v4..1.603 and tried it with newly compiled Ocpn_draw. Also tried it with Grib. Found Grib transparency changed when I try to left click and move the drawing. The transparency changed to grey or black and you could not see the chart. When you move the grib one frame or run it the transparency comes back and you can see the chart below.

I'll do some more testing but after a successful load and chart display, then using grib I ran to some problems.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Also a small bug in toolbar when set to auto hide. If you disable auto hide the icon stays underneath the transparent toolbar.

Do we want buglet reports in this thread or formal fly spray entries?

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Also entered on tracker

Tidal current arrows, on CM93 charts, display incorrectly as reported for a previous beta version (seems to have been deleted as can't find in tracker anywhere).

They do display at a reasonable size in this version but there is no differentiation between ebb and flood current and and the info on right-click provides no info on rate of flow.

examples at.. S51 24'6 W060 06'4

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.602 Release

Hello Dave, hello Pavel,

This test with my netbook ASUS EeePC 10' W 7 starter.

Issue that I as with my tablet W 8.1 are not present with my EeePC under W7.

With VisitMyHarbour Chartstick : no problem. the chart are correctly displayed.

BUT with Dongle NV-Chart :

Impossible to use my NV-Chart with O 4.1.602. Plugin obsolete. Can you re-compile a new version of NV-chart plugin ?

Thank by advance.

(Note : With 4.0.0, no problem with NV-Chart that I bought recently)

Best regards.

That´s the same situation as for all plug-ins.
The BSB-4, the NV and as well the S-63 plug-in will need to be compiled for the 4.1.x series for Win (and Linux in the case of S-63).
Step by step....
