Notes:

This rather large change list represents the major percentage of the outstanding Flyspray tasks against O4.
There are also a few functional improvements, to wit:

31. Quilting for skewed raster charts in OpenGL mode is now standard behaviour.
34. Update wxWidgets to version 3.02, for increased performance and stability.
36. Improved GUI for GRIB overlays. For more, see https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/pull/270
xx. Extended PlugIn API enabling some new PlugIn concepts under developement and to be seen shortly.

We are aiming to release OCPN 4.2 sometime in late summer. We should consider this Release to be a "maintenance" Release, with a few new features for spice. As such, our Beta test program should focus on regression testing of your favorite stress tests and daily use cases.

Please check and clear your Flysray tasks. Probably some will be so old that they will have been forgotten by the originator, but please try. I will manually clear the leftovers in a couple of weeks if we hear no further problems.

I have opened a new Flyspray tracker Project for OCPN 4.1.x Beta series. Please use this tracker for new issues found on the OCPN mainline beta release for PC. The Android Beta series has its own tracker....

Hi all...
The download page is updated with the links to the 4.1.602 installation packages. The beta PPA for Linux will take some more time to build the packages.

Important note about plugins:
Due to the switch to wxWidgets 3.0, the current plugins are not compatible with the 4.1 beta on Windows and Linux and need a rebuild. I have set up Plugins for OpenCPN 4.1 | Official OpenCPN Homepage to track the progress and link the updated packages. The process is a bit lenthgy and the page will be updated as I manage to go through all of them.

Without having read flyspray, is it already possible to ignore your own ais-signal, because this was constantly giving you an alert. I'm coming from version 3.2

Welcome aboard. Tell us more about your configuration.

You need to use the connections filters to exempt your ownship report. This is a standard feature of OCPN 4.x

This is mentioned before but I would like to see if there are more than me having this issue:
This issue is valid for (my?) Win 7(32), not for WinXP, neither for Linux Ubuntu nor RB_pi.
It's valid for OCPN 4.1... including wx-3.0, not for OCPN 4.0
The source code used for all examples is the same and, for XP and W7, the same installation package is used.
The Win package is built on XP, VC2010. For Linux on each machine.

W7 problem:
In Dashboard using instrument 13, historical depth, the diagram is not shown and values are collected from other instruments. See my leftmost picture.
I haven't debugged it since I've no build chain on my Win7 PC, aimed for navigation only, but if no other trace is coming up I may have to install the repository on that PC as well.

Before I make a Tracker post of this I want to check if someone else would like to make a test on there Win7 PC for the same occurrence?

I installed the latest beta over my 4.0 install and when I started it up, after telling me all my plugins need to be updated it hangs. (Win 8.1)

I renamed the plugin folder to plugin.old, and it started just fine.

Looking forward to seeing if the quilting of raster charts works better... I was working on converting some old charts of Mexico and stopped when viewing them gave unpredictable results.

Can you try if the hang is repeatable? I can't reproduce it on my testing machine.
Can we get more info about the problems with your charts and perhaps have a look at them (a minimal sample to illustrate the problem would be good)?

Here's how my testing went:
Update OpenCPN
Start OpenCPN
Close error messages about plugins
Application Not Responding
Force opencpn to close after waiting 15-20 seconds
Start OpenCPN again
Close error messages about plugins
Application Not Responding
Let it sit for a few minutes to see if it would throw an error eventually
Force opencpn to close
Rename plugins folder to plugins.old
Start OpenCPN again
No errors, no hang.
Saw your post.
Closed OpenCPN
Renamed plugin folder back
Start OpenCPN
Errors about plugins
Didn't hang this time

So it's not repeatable at this point. Thanks.

As to the charts, I wasn't sure if it was an issue with my home brewed kap files or not, so I never bothered posting about it. After spending less than 5 minutes taking a look at it, it looks like the changes you made to raster chart quilting makes a big difference. The NOAA raster charts render much better, and looking at my home brew charts they seem to work much more predictably now, except for a few which are propably problems with the kap files.
