mbtiles support in Android app

I tested some personal mbtiles charts in the PC version 5 and they worked perfectly so I purchased the Android version to use on my tablet but they do not work.
Has support for mbtiles in the Android app been enabled yet? If not, is it coming any time soon?
regards,
Brian.

Not yet. Depends on what you consider soon, I would sure not count with something like days, it will be a lot of work for Dave to rebase the Android app on OpenCPN 5.

Brian....
I would estimate that the next Release of OpenCPN for Android including some O5 features will be available by June 1, 2019.

Thanks
Dave

Dave..
You're indefatigable
I'd love to see dual canvas on my phone -- Well -- it works surprisingly well on the RPi 7" screen, so you never know.

Re: mbtiles support in Android app

Actually there is one issue which bugs me on the Android version of OpenCPN (which I bought) regarding the MBtiles and the other charts location.

I do have a dual boot notebook running Win10Pro and PrimeOS (=Android).

PrimeOS allows folders to be shared between both operating systems.
SailgribWR can access my chart folder which is located on a separate WORK partition under Windows from within Android.
So I can use this chart folder under Windows and Android.

On the contrary I can not point the Android version of OpenCPN to this folder.
Can this be fixed? Would be great.
If Sailgrib can do it, it should be technically possible for OpenCPN too, no?

Btw. I'd prefer the charts to not be located on the system partition for obvious reasons.
If you need to reinstall you loose your charts...

Thanks, Fran

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I got a refund based on the answer before yours so I will wait for the next release and make a decision then.
I produce the Inland Waterways charts for Ireland https://chartssig.iwai.ie/ and was interested in your product as an alternative to Locus that most of our members use currently.
It will be interesting to see what your app offers over the other apps, but for inland waterways the requirements are far less than at sea, so for most users it will simply come down to price I guess.
best regards,
Brian.
