That is strange as I am running the same configuration and don't see the problem.
Could you temporary move the file C:\ProgramData\opencpn\plugins\logbook\data\logboo k to another location and then start OpenCPN and add a new line to logbook and see if that changes anything?

I tried this. Same behaviour.

For the translation I translated not only the language file, but also the texts in the dialog window for the textblocks (see attachment for example). May this have cause a change?

Note: although these texts are present in the langauge file, it seems that these aren't coupled to the dialog, making it necessary to change the dialog texts in the dialog window when the program was running.

May this have changed something?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Some column numbers in Textblocks.xml seem to be wrong. I tried with the last node (Motor/Sails Remarks). Column number was 19. I changed this to 21, deactivated and activated the plugin, and for this column the entry is now ok, so it seems. I'll try this for the other wrong colums too.

Edit: I changed all wrong column numbers in Textblocks.xml to the correct numbers. Everything now seems to work as it should.
Possibly, the problem was caused by changing the texts in the dialog, or because some columns were hidden when I started. I don't know, I'm not a programmer.

You must have had an existing Textblocks.xml file from an older logbook version. I have to find a way to check for this in the next update.

Additionally:
It still works after closing OpenCPN and starting it again.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

I have been using OpenCPN and naturally the logbook every day for the last 8 month sailing down the coast of Europe and across the Atlantic.

I have missed two things i the logbook;
- I am using UTC in the logbook, but I would like to have local time column next to the UTC column.

- There is a nice overview for each route. This is very nice when you sail the same route for for one or two days, but I would like to have an overview for each 24 hours with the same information as in the current overview. This would be nice when you sail the same route for 15 to 20 days.

Regards, Lars

Lars,

I will look into this and see how easy it would be to implement.

Peter

Found it!

VWR & VWT seem to work OK.

Using these examples in the NMEA converter plugin the dashboard works and the fields in the logbook get updated when a new line gets written.

$IIVWR,084.0,R,10.4,N,5.4,M,19.3,K
$IIVWT,084.0,R,10.4,N,5.4,M,19.3,K

Quote:
VWR - Relative Wind Speed and Angle
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
| | | | | | | | |
$--VWR,x.x,a,x.x,N,x.x,M,x.x,K*hh<CR><LF>
Field Number:

Wind direction magnitude in degrees

Wind direction Left/Right of bow

Speed

N = Knots

Speed

M = Meters Per Second

Speed

K = Kilometers Per Hour

Checksum

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi,

When I want to start the logbook plugin it directly close OpenCPN.

I'm running OpenCPN 4.1.1329 and logbook 1.2018 on an PI2 with Raspbian.

Any ideas how I can solve this?

Kinds regards,
Swokey

Try going into raspi-config, then in international options use the arrow buttons to find..

EN_US.UFT-8 UTF-8

highlight it and select by pressing the space key. Then save, this should work.

Where did you find the list with the NMEA sentences and whwere i get stored in logbook?

I get an $OPXDR message for the temperature from an DS18B20 sensor. Can that be stored in the logbook?

I just kept trying different sensors until I found some which worked

With the XDR temperature - you could try the NMEA-Converter plug in - change it to a MDA sentence maybe?
