Creating Duplicate of a Route

I have created a base route, and want to create duplicates of it so that I can plot several variations of it.

I'm not finding an obvious way to do this, neither by tiral and error, or in the literature on-line.

Also, I am a new user and in the first few hours of playing around with OpenCPN I've discovered some neat features. The program is awesome. If you'd like to share your favorite feature, or tip or trick for using the software I'd love to learn from your experience.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are in Windows, export de route on the desktop; rename the route and open the route with Notepad, rename the route in the file (begining of the file). It should work OK. Then you import the route with a new name and change what ever you want.

It didn't work properly this way in all cases in 4.0.0 (conflict and duplicated Wpts)
I should work in 4.1.915

Re: Creating Duplicate of a Route

Thanks to both of you. It worked!

I have a related question about merging separate tracks but will start a new thread.

Cheers!

Re: Creating Duplicate of a Route

So why not check Tracker to see if these requests are listed?
Also http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...es-153360.html

See RM Tasks OpenCPN::Tracker 0 - OpenCPN - Feature Requests: Tasklist
And if they aren't just register and enter the tasks under feature request.
Then Vote for them.

Re: Creating Duplicate of a Route

Ok thanks, I'll look into that. I'm new to the software and the community, so still figuring out how things work. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Creating Duplicate of a Route

rjm, I think your two OpenCPN "Feature Requests" for tasks titled
"RM Create duplicate of Route"
"RM Join two routes"
are good and should be posted. If you register and create the two separate requests, I will be happy to edit them appropriately once you enter them.

Please add greater descriptions with details of what you want to happen or think should be done. You will be responsible for closing this request if/when it gets completed.

There may be additional discussion about the idea and you will be notified.

Re: Creating Duplicate of a Route
