Best ARM mini-pc for Ocpn with LVDS and camera?

Hi. Im planning my chart-plotter system and im leaning towards a ARM-based setup.
The screen will be a Pixel Qi transfective lcd monitorNew Pixel Qi 10 inch PQ3QI 01 LCD Screen Display Panel 90 Days Warranty | eBay (LVDS interface). I would like a camera input for a FLIR camera in the future. A serial interface too.
I'm not choosing ARM because of price, so looking at 100$+ boards.

So.. wich board is the most powerful one , and runs Ocpn in a stable manner?

Looking at this:
E9 Mini PC Pack A Freescale I MX6 Quad Cortex A9 1GHz 2GB DDR3 8GB Emmc 7'' LCD | eBay

And.. anyone with a working ARM-based setup with radar??

The screen looks interesting like a real possibility.

I think I was looking at one of the Freescale ones too and I don't believe it has Mali graphics. Sean says Mali graphics have the drivers that are needed and Opencpn works with them. I believe the other graphics processor does not.

Processor
  • Freescale i.MX6Q Cortex-A9 Quad-core*1GHz
  • 1 MB L2 cache
  • 3D graphics with four shaders
  • Two 2D graphics engines

Re: Best ARM mini-pc for Ocpn with LVDS and camera?

OK.. Cubieboard 2 Seems to be reasonably fast, with Mali graphics, LVDS interface , and serial ports..
I think there is a video input on the extender bus , not shure what format.

Do you guys think this is fast enough?
Any other alternatives? There is a jungle out there..

A Intel-based SoC like this http://www.hectronic.se/website1/emb...onic-h6825.php Could be an alternative , but have yet to find one with LVDS interface. I could use a LVDS/HDMI converter, if I must.

Re: Best ARM mini-pc for Ocpn with LVDS and camera?

I still want to explore the ARM scene , but I think I'll wait go for a x86 based solution for now.

found these two for now , wich has two channel 24bit LVDS
Intel Atom D2550 All in One Slim Mini ITX Motherboard D2550MT Replace DN2800MT | eBay

Intel Thin Mini ITX DN2800MT LVDS 8 19V DC Dual Core Atom DDR3 HDMI | eBay

First one even has a sim socket and GSM 3g if I'm correct. unshure of quality though..
Second one is a Intel reference board , and should be a safe bet.

First one has Intel GMA3600 graphics , second one GMA3650. I believe these are of the more problematic ones? Have to read a bit more.

Both have DC power , no ATX.

I will get a Arm based minipc later on , might wait for a Nvidia Tegra290 (Cortex9)
