Challenge: Identify this Boat

I cannot remember the name of the design, but there are similarities, particularly in the bow, to a design with two unstayed masts, the forward one right up in the bow. I do not mean the Freedom, but a european manufacturer.

That boat is the repainted port half of a lagoon 400.

the hull reminds me of a photo of Mike Plant's Coyote, only with a dog house on top...

Not pretty I would agree but not much different from a Lagoon. Probably cost effective build for the hull. Getting headroom often does this to a hull in smaller sizes.

Don't know what small is to you, but this one was at least 44'! Sailed in quite a light-footed fashion as well, must be the aluminium..

What's the word old salts use to describe a seaworthy boat shape - wholesome? Is this a wholesome boat?

Well, "attractive" means different things to different folks.

But any boat I own has to be pleasing to my eyes.

I'd suggest a home build - with some one trying to meld a race hull to a cruiser top.

For me the hull is sweet, but the top is something else.

But with that wide spreader base guess she carries some sail area and is probably a very fast cruiser - and for sure - someone loves her.
