I've bought a boat a Thrane and Thrane Sailor 250 system. I'm trying to understand what the cost of operation is, and how useful is it? The broker told me it's outmoded junk and I should pitch it...

Since posting this I've had several people tell me this is valuable equipment. In fact it is still available new and provides worldwide internet and voice communication. I've posted it for sale in the Classifieds section if you're interested.
