I get weather whether I want to or not!

I have a SIMRAD RS35 VHF radio on my Alerion Express 38, along with an HS35 remote handset. After approximately 30 minutes of monitoring Channel 16, the radio will start receiving the local weather channel. The display does not change, and no one pushes any buttons. It's as if an emergency broadcast had preempted the normal Channel 16 monitoring, but there's no interesting weather to cause it. I don't think I have a SAME code entered into the radio in any case.

Anyone have any ideas?

Seems strange, I'd have expected the Channel number to change when the VHF switched over to the weather broadcast.

Only thing I can think of is that the auto channel switching is enabled. Might be worth checking that, and if it is, then disable that setting.

I have the same problem with my B&G V50. I just talked to B&G at length today and they want my radio back, full replacement. no problems
I have the 5th case of this that they know of and the others they can't reproduce the problem in the shop.
My radio also stopped receiving AIS targets on a Gulf Stream crossing. A simple off and back on fixed it.
I spoke with Brian Gifford if that helps. Let me know what you find out.

There is a short in the machine which is causing the Channel 16 to go to WX. At least it doesn't surf porn or put you on talk radio...

Had the same issue with the ghost switching to Wx. The latest software update release seems to have solved the issue.. If you haven't done so yet you can get it at RS35 /HS35 Software Update - Simrad Marine Electronics

I think that the latest software version is the right solution. Since the problem is intermittent, one never knows until the next time! Since I have a mixture of B&G and SIMRAD items on the boat, I have to go to both sites to download the latest SW.

Just installed a new Zeus 9, incidentally, and it's gorgeous. Good user interface (except for the stereo control) and a great display.
