Furuno 1621 radar won't power up

Spring install, go to power up, turn on power & get a vertical line in the center of the screen for about 1/2 second then nothing. It is getting full voltage to unit.
Does this tell you anything right off? Like display unit is shot? Connection to cable up mast seems to be a good fitting.
Hoping to nurse another year out of this unit.

There's a fuse in the big wire right behind the unit. Did you check that?

Yes, full voltage @ unit, fuse looks fine. Possible that, when load applied, connection fails but don't know if symptom is consistent with that. Fuse looks good, not tenuous connection.
Thx

He did for a second, dude. Checking a fuse again isn't too hard, dude. Especially when it's right at the back of the display, dude.

hey sometimes you can reboot the unit to make the chips reset not sure how on a radar but it works for me when I get water in my laptops. I unplug the main pcu chips and plug them back in.

Re: Furuno 1621 radar won't power up

Anyway, it's been a couple of years since we installed ours, it came with the boat but the cable was cut. We had some similar problem IIRC and my wife went all through the manual changing settings and got it working.
I recently pushed the wrong button and got it not working again. They're easy to flub the settings a little and get it not working.
