Announcement of new Raymarine Technical Forum

Received the following excerpt from an email from Raymarine this morning. For all of you with Raymarine installation & operation questions, this looks like an improvement over the old tech community forum. FYI only.

With the goal of continuing to provide Raymarine customers and prospective Raymarine customers world class pre-sales, installation, operation, and troubleshooting support, Raymarine has designed a new Raymarine Forum (forum.raymarine.com/index.php) to replace the Raymarine Technical Community Forum (raymarine.ning.com/forum). Users of the new Raymarine Forum will find it easier to search for threads containing pertinent product selection assistance, system diagrams, feature suggestions, and technical tips. Like the retired Raymarine Technical Community Forum, users may create a user account, permitting them to afterwards create threads and responses to threads within the new Raymarine Forum. Like the Raymarine Technical Community Forum, customers also will find that the new Raymarine Forum features categories cover each of Raymarine’s major product lines (ex. Autopilots, Instruments, Multifunction Displays, Radar, Thermal Cameras, etc.) as well as categories for product selection assistance, system diagrams, feature suggestions, and technical tips.

On February 16th, the Raymarine Technical Community Forum will be retired, closing it to new user accounts, discussions, and responses. At that time, Raymarine’s web site and the Raymarine Technical Community Forum will direct customers to the new Raymarine Forum. Account s from the Raymarine Technical Community Forum will not be ported to the new Raymarine Forum. Please see the following document below addressing how to register for an account within the new Raymarine Forum: New%20Raymarine%20Forum%20Announcement.pdf.

Visit Raymarine Technical Forum at: Raymarine Technical Forum

Re: Announcement of new Raymarine Technical Forum

Hopefully the search function will be better. It's a great way to get answers from Ray rather than asking questions here.

All posts have to be moderated. I posted a correction to a fault-finding procedure posted by one of the mods; it was rejected.

Re: Announcement of new Raymarine Technical Forum

It sounds to me like, "We don't want any non approved fixes posted here, and we're dumping all old posts not approved by our new autocracy."
