Actually, I didn't delete it. I presume a moderator did that. But it was off topic. No hard feelings on my part. Sorry for the partisan quip. My fingers got ahead of my brain.

There is so many rules and regulations regarding pot that it must have been designed only to be a giant money grab.
Legalizing Pot made smoking pot a 100 times more risky of getting fined and going to jail. I Thank heaven that i can't stand the smell of that skunky stuff ! Pot smokers still have to hide in their basements to avoid all the trouble associated with smoking it ! I'm sure the Canadian Black Market is thriving more than ever now !
Most of what you state here is either outright incorrect or inaccurate. Please look up penalties under the new laws.

Not a smoker myself, and don’t appreciate the expansion of arbitrary roadside stops under the guise of stopping cannabis DUI, but I doubt the data is in as to whether this is a boon to the black market.

Hopefully it won't last long.

Re: Question re: guns on board in Bahamas

Remember the Rescue of Captain Phillips from Somali pirates, and the 3 Navy Seal snipers, whose 3 head shots ended the standoff?
https://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/w...s.html?_r=1&hp

Well, according to William Graves of GPS Defense Sniper School and John Pike of GlobalSecurity.org , “it would have been an easy shot.” (for those snipers /w their equipment)
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/...feet-away.html

Precision rifles (used by snipers as sniper rifles) almost always have free floated barrels, and fire Match grade ammunition. And, then, there’s is the man behind the trigger.

To avoid it drifting into politics where feelings will get ruffled, it is time to close and thank everyone for their interactions.

Re: Question re: guns on board in Bahamas

With the Canada pot thing, I only meant that sometimes what is legal and acceptable in one society, may not be in another.
Women or Men’s clothing for example, what is acceptable on a beach in France, may not be in the South Pacific etc.

Then times change, as a kid I always had my Ruger M77 and usually a 28Ga. Shotgun in the gun rack in the back window of my truck, even in the school parking lot.
Nothing was thought about it, because no one under any circumstances ever thought “I’ll get my gun”
I don’t know why, we just knew better?
Society has changed, and we should change with it.

Just me, but I can’t imagine that a firearm could do anything but get you into God awful serious trouble overseas, I don’t like the idea of being locked up abroad.

I haven’t myself ever heard of any single “pirate” type of attack on a cruising boat, except rarely in an area where it’s no secret that we just shouldn’t be, just as being an old white guy there are cities and places in the US, even my home town that I won’t go to especially after dark, cause it’s well known that bad things may happen if you do.

Avoidance and due diligence is the key I think to safety, being aware of your surroundings and knowing when it’s time to leave or knowing enough to not flash the Rolex and the Wife wear her diamonds etc.
