The NetCDF-Java library currently reads the following file formats and remote access protocols:

GRIB version 1 and version 2 (ongoing work on tables)
NEXRAD Radar[24] level 2 and level 3.
DORADE[18] radar file format

As I said before there are also some free currents-gribs available at meteo.fr

FYI the bugn with CAPE is fixed and will be in the release.

Grib Currents development, Tidetech route optimization on ipad with Weather4D and iNavX just interesting, that others are doing it now.

Maitai, have downloaded and installed Navimail and need to get into it for Meteo current gribs. Thanks.

Is it possible to edit in the qtvlm map. There is a bridge that are blocking for a possible route.

Is it real mode or vlm mode? If it's real mode and you want to route through the bridge you can make in 2 steps. If it's vlm mode it's dead, vlm uses the same maps as qtVlm and won't let you pass the obstacle if there is no hole in it.

There is no problems with the bridge in Real life, it is only when planning in qtvlm.

Version 3.4.0 is finally out

Many big changes, mainly conceerning map manipulation (pan and zoom) and zone selection (don't hesitate to ask if not clear).

Main changes are:

New internal system for calculating coordinates,
Completely reviewed menus and contextual menus,
Add a "play grib" function,
New startup sequence,
New system for map navigating and selecting (pan, zoom, etc),
Support for touch-screen hardware (QT5 only, if you compile with QT4 it won't work for touch-screens),
A magnifier tool,
Support for myOcean currents-gribs files,
Some new options and improvements in route ans routage,
And many bug fixes and other small improvements

For windows (and mac) the link is as usual: QtVlm Download

For Mac the new installation file is not ready yet, coming soon

For Linux if you compile yourself it's as usual (but you'd better upgrade to qt5.0.1, although it will work in 4.8.x unless you are using a touch-screen).

Ubuntu distribution is coming asap otherwise.

until now 3.4.0 works great

especially the map handling is much more intuitiv.

Note that concerning selecting, you can switch to selection mode by pressing the selection button of course, but also by doing <shift>click and drag. <ctrl>-click and drag will select and immediately zoom on the selected area.
