We have started implementing SignalK so when that will be ready we will also create more gauges and alarms.

Hello all,


I am trying to get qtVlm working on my linux computer. I am running the latest version. I have downloaded the two zip files and extracted them. There is no run file to install the software. I have tried everything from the forum already. What am I missing?



I have: "qtVlm-5.10.3-64_1-p3.tar.gz" and "qtvlm-5.10.2-p3-64_1.tar.gz"


I have it on my tablet but it is too small to work with when you do not know how. That I just got from Play Store.



Any help would be appreciated, Dan

From a command line, run ./qtVlm from the qtVlm directory (or wherever you uncompressed the files). It's a *.sh file.

Download the user manual If you haven't already. It's very good. Installation/running is on page 7.

The problem was I was extracting it in downloads and then moving the file folder to a different drive. At least I think that was the problem. I just double clicked on the qtvlm file in downloads and it installed.


thanks, now I have to figure out how to use it.

This program is great, it is going to take a bit to figure it all out, but I already have a route and boat in simulation mode. 5 days LA to FL. Uploaded my polar and my speed is good.

Glad to see that qtVLM still exists! Used it last in version 4.x
Is the sourcecode available (again)? I hate to use precompiled binaries on my Tumbleweed machine.....
