We’ve sort of been keeping it under wraps for a while but we’ve officially cleared survey, wrapped up final negotiations, and signed the Acceptance document. Our new-to-us boat is a 1999 Jefferson Rivanna 52’ cockpit motor yacht that has been well-taken care of and is in great shape. She has a large water maker, a huge house bank of batteries, a big solar array, satellite TV, and a good center console, 30 hp dinghy.

We will be renaming her “Wanderlust” and the photo of the stern has been doctored to show the new name. 😃

We’re scheduled to close on March 1st and we’re very, very excited!

Congrats. Sometimes wonder what we will end up with when we are done with sailing. Hard thinking about swallowing the hook.

Congrats, any plans for longer trips after all you have a water maker...lol. Waiting to pick Wanderlust up will be more painful than a 5 year old waiting for Xmas.

Oh yeah! This boat is no marina queen. The seller is actually someone we knew from our old marina. We knew him and this boat. Many of our friends are also his friends so the reputations (both people and the boat) were well-known. This boat has done the Loop and has spent several winters in the Bahamas.

Our intention is to start off slow with a few long weekends to local anchorages then a ten day trip to the Keys to really get used to her and smooth out the livability. Two years and 22 days from right now, I retire and we cast off the lines to spend our retirement years cruising the east coast and the Bahamas.

Congratulations. Very nice boat.

One question, if I may. Where will you keep the dinghy? Unless I missed it, I didn't see any davits or brackets on the transom nor a crane on the bow.

There is a low profile davit on the port side of the aft deck roof. The stand pipe is toward the port stern.

In the first photo, the foggy shot, you can see the cradle on top of the aft deck. In the photo of the stern, you can see the bottom of the dinghy on top of the aft deck.

OK, see it now. Reason I was curious, my son-in-law has a 42' sport fisherman and he's mounting a crane and chocks on the foredeck for a RIB. Wondered what other alternatives there might be. He can't use the transom because he seriously fishes the boat and the cabin top is smaller due to the large cockpit and is full of antennas and such.

By the way, I love the engine room. Enough to make a sailboater jealous.
