I think the OP has fled this thread.

Re: Marina acting strange RE: boat sale or are they?

IMHO... Just another "I don't have a boat yet but I want a boat for cheap" dreamer. They seem to be all over this forum as of late. Pure time wasters most of them.

You know... the internet can be a wonderful tool and aid but... Geez! We have people on here with 5,000+ posts that are still "gettin ready to get ready." They have no boat but damn they sure know how to type on their keyboards and put a "perfect boat dream list" together!

Go get a life folks and come back when you are serious.

Happy Friday to all CF members that actually have a boat and sail it!

Doncha just love people who post in a long thread and admit they haven't read the preceding posts?

Well, depending on how long the thread is, I have to admit that I sometimes post without reading EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. On the other hand, when it's only four pages long, and you admit you haven't read ANY of them, that's a different matter.

Re: Marina acting strange RE: boat sale or are they?

Consider that your actions may be considered bad faith. Although that may not be stipulated in the contract as a reason to nullify it, let's say the marina tell you to take your deposit and have a nice walk to the end of dock. What are you going to do, Sue? So after you give a lawyer a $10k retainer and start with the slow process of depositions and discovery, maybe you will win 5 or 6 years later. Your time and legal fees will end of being more than the boat. If you were my friend I would tell you to apologize to the marina and try to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.

I always get an allergic reaction when reading these kind of sleazy threads

A very hot shower seems to help.

Re: Marina acting strange RE: boat sale or are they?

Another issue...Even if the OP can get a surveyor out before the time limit, they usually want a week or so to go back and put the report together.

Obviously, you can get some feedback if you are there during the survey but if the surveyor lists an issue in the report...after you bought...no coming back on the surveyor for not telling you sooner.

Usually deals done under time pressure turn into clusters...especially when you are trying to mess over people on the other side.

Re: Marina acting strange RE: boat sale or are they?

I asked the OP a very specific question. He hasn't answered. There may be some hope that he doesn't intend to.

Perhaps we can all agree that it's time to let this thread float gently out to sea?
