I never met Rod but I have met Olin. Drake Sparkmen Jr. was a partner of mine on a race boat that I still own (1954 Raven). Drake is now gone. He was full of stories from the old days of setting up boats for Bogart, Gable and several other Hollywood types. Drake raced with the Stephens over the years that he was with Sparkman and Stephens. He sailed on 16 Newport to Bermuda races over the years. Several races with one or both of the Stephens. Through him I met Olin.
