Re: Hydranet triradial vs. 3Di Nordac/Endurance
April 2022 update. Thanks to Covid, travel has been either not permitted or too difficult to make test requirements match up with weather windows. This year things have eased up and we arrived in... |

Re: Pro Kennex 420/445 Catamaran 6 cabins
I do find the Pro Kennex building methods to be very interesting and would love to see one. It is not just materials used but the engineering behind it that makes for great build quality. Catana... |

Re: Nautitech talk
It sails great. I point higher than lagoons and leopards. I sailed downwind on jib alone in 12kts of wind at 8.5kts. I have sailed upwind with a bit too much sail up at 13 kts. It seems to be... |

Re: Pro Kennex 420/445 Catamaran 6 cabins
The Aluminum Garcia catamaran has no structural plywood. I have toured the Catana factory and as a mechanical engineer and materials scientist, they have chosen a remarkable blend of materials to... |

Re: Nautitech talk
I have a Nautitech 441 with a port hull mounted anchor. It’s a bit of a pain to maneuver so that the chain does not drag across the bow while deploying and retrieving the anchor, but it is not worth... |

Re: Anchors for Catamarans
With an anchor that would not hold the boat in the mud in Woburn Bay and limited choices available we opted for a 25kG Rocna Vulcan. Once installed we then spend 3 months locked down on a mooring. ... |

Re: New here: lots and lots and lots of questions :)
I am not surprised that isolating at home during the pandemic brings out lots of dreamers. I started dreaming about the lifestyle back in 78’. On a 3 week charter in 84’ I made buying a boat to... |

Re: Best boat for extended quarantine
No need for a heater here. We are on a mooring in southern Grenada. It is about 85-87 F during the day and dipping as low as 81F at night. Being able to easily board the boat after a swim In... |

Re: Best boat for extended quarantine
Missed one. Plenty of cooking gas Correct that solar/wind for power and a watermaker reduces the need for tank storage. Having both is luxury Agreed that the Kindle is a fantastic thing to... |

Best boat for extended quarantine

Re: Forced to change plans - where to go now?
Stay in US waters. We are in Grenada and can’t move. If you want to head North I can say the Chesapeake is lovely, As the weather gets warmer nothing beats sailing in New England. Most Marinas... |

Re: Navigation lights for an inflatable
There are 3 parts to the support. The part that glues on to the dinghy, the base, and the fishing rod holder. I think you could remove whatever is needed for storage upside down. |

Re: Can you have Comfort, Value and Performance in a Catamaran?
I see my friends at Neo Marine have a TS42 for sale in Martinique. I will have to check it out next month. It sure does look spartan. I am sure it will make my wife feel better about our boat. |

Re: Off with the coppercoat
Here is the Seajet Taisho on our catamaran. Nothing worse than having two boats racking up marina storage charges. Time to go sailing! Unlike the monohull which is propped up with 5 jackstands,... |

Re: Catamaran Mooring Bridle Ideas

Re: Catamaran Mooring Bridle Ideas
Detail of the location of the bow cleat. When I used the cleats for securing the boat to a mooring with a second bridle, the line would rub on the bow. |

Re: Catamaran Mooring Bridle Ideas
I like the suggestions. I wonder if I can lead the lines from the fixed points on the crossbeam to the cleats on the outer sides of the bows so as the boat swings, the amount that the line moves,... |
