remember the old saying that cheap boats are the most expensive. you can pay up frontfor good newer gear or pay later replacing it all.

I thank most cruisers are of the retirement age because thats how they have the time to do it? but I think sailing is ageless except where there can be help with systems for older weaker people?

Good luck in your search toget on a boat, if in the california Bay Area during the summer you can get on a boat just about everyday for a day sail or race. we have about a 1000 races a year here...

I agree with most in saying that SSB is a older com that has been replaced by more modern coms including starlink. Good as a back up but with its limits.

any light is better then nothing in the short term as long as it would not confuse other boaters at night, but you should get a proper light if you will be anchoring in the future.

the idea of the snubber is to take the load off the windlass and put it on the cleats which were made to hold the load of the boat. do you want the four bolts holding the entire weight of your boat?

galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

I am not great with electrical but need to put in a GI as recomended by my surveyor. It seems like a 32 would cover it? I have a 30 amp shore cord if that means anything?
