There might be a reason Cuba is not mentioned in Option #3 - Insurance. Most insurance companies will NOT insure a vessel in Cuba or Haiti either.

The rums from Martinique and Guadeloupe, Rhum agricole, prepared from cane juice rather than molasses are meant for a different taste than mine. I find them all very bitter but great in a Ti Punch!

But further down island you will run into major problems as well. Some islands do not allow pets at all and other islands have poison set out...

I heard that the work permit is in addition to the temporary import license. So you pay $200 for the import license and $300 for each person on your boat who works. Kind of expensive just to work...

Some cruisers like to secure and haul out their boat in the BVI’s for hurricane season. Then paint the bottom themselves before launching for the next winter sailing season, among other repairs.
