Looking for a yacht manager in Chaguaramas, Trinidad

We are planning to put our boat in the yard at Peakes in Chaguaramas for the hurricane season this year. Read a lot about the yachting community and services provided, which clearly are plentiful and growing. Looking for recommendations from those cruisers that have stayed and/or stored there that have used a yacht manager to look after and manage any service needs while on the hard. Thank you for sharing your experiences and any contacts!

If you are in the secured, locked yard, no yacht manager is permitted inside. But if you are not in that locked yard then you can have a yacht manager if you choose. Most people don't use a yacht manager while their vessel is on the hard for short term storage.

drapem1, if you intend to have any work done while in Chag, consult Mark Farfan at Dynamite Marine (2 yards down from Peake's, adjacent to Budget). He only works with A-list contractors, and can manage everything from a simple bottom job to a full refit. (868) 634-4868, dynamitemarine@gmail.com

If you're just needing a boat babysitter (someone to check on tarps/covers, battery health, if floating start engines and check bilges, etc.) hit up a an old friend of mine, Graham Diamond. He's a salty dog Brit ex-pat, and a jack of all marine trades. Not sure what his rates are, but I know he does this kind of thing (868) 742-0912, tusktail@gmail.com

For either, tell them Geoff of s/v Diva sent you.

Depending on what you need, you would typically just have the Yard Manager or Dock Master where you are storing the boat take care of general babysitting of the boat. I've never had to hire a 3rd party agent to do so.
