We owned a Catalina 30 also. I found the same issue when winching in the halyyard. I made two risers out of 1/4" starboard and bedded them under the deck organizers. That did the trick

I would love to know who came up with the "buyer pays for a survey" rule. If I really wanted to sell a boat ( listen up brokers) than I would have a survey done and show it to all prospective buyers....
