    Biography
I had a brief history of the boat over the phone and was writing to see if any of you knew or possibly have heard about it's history. The story begins in England (UK) of a gentleman that ordered the plans and had a shipyard (Gehling & Hill Boat Co.) in England build the sailboat. The gentleman single handily sailed the vessel from England across the Atlantic to the USA in an attempt to go around the globe. We are assuming that took place around 1992/1995 Also I was told that the sailboat was featured on the cover of a sailing magazine as the gentleman crossed the Atlantic on the first leg of his trip. Also was told the gentleman was going to sail the vessel through the Panama Canal. The owner had become ill and stopped in Houston, Texas and paid a marina to keep until his return to the USA. The gentleman never returned to his boat and passed away in England. After a period of an unknown number of years the vessel was sold by the marina to a couple which kept it in the Clearlake, Texas area. Once again the vessel sat up in a marina for a couple years and sold to a younger guy and he kept the boat in Louisiana. The guy is a commercial diver and had lived on it for approximately 2 years and again the boat has been sitting idle in the marina. The young guy donated the boat to BoatAngelMinistries and was placed on ebay. (09 Oct 2012) The boat has a Ferryman diesel. The vessel was in need of many repairs, but not structurally. All of the decks were in great shape with no soft spots.
Also Jill and I have updated the boat a little more than when we purchased it.
We now have a 7kw kohler generator onboard, increased the fuel tanks to 180 gals, water to 100 gals, installed an ElectroSan sewer system and removed the 130 gal holding tank and installed a 20 gal holding tank for the head. Installed a 16,500 btu marine AC/Heat unit. Replaced all of the wiring, and plumbing and installed all new Led lighting throughout. We have also installed 6 house batteries with 2 Xantrex multi bank chargers. Also a 12v chest freezer & 12v chest refrigerator, microwave/convection oven, and a propane two burner stove top. Electronics wise we have a Horizon AIS VHF radio, a loud hailer with the automatic horns, bells. Also a Humminbird gps, chart plotter, and down image sonar combo system. Two 12v Led 22 inch dvd tv's one in the stateroom and one in the salon area. Within the 2014 year we are planning to install custom made window frames and safety glass in the pilothouse. Other additions to include a bow thruster, small water maker for drinking water w/ a 10 gal pot tank, small ice maker, radar unit and two 250 watt solar panels for the 2 house batteries for bilge pumps. And finally ordering a set of sails to complete the boat. We are considering on an additional 12v 5000 btu marine AC from MarineTronics for the stateroom? Any suggestions or or advice on a 12v marine ac unit for those quiet times without a genset?
