Another view of raising a child whilst cruising

I'm not a big fan of Yahoo news, but I thought this account of raising a child on board while long term cruising was interesting... and in stark contrast to the very negative view that got so much forum space a few months ago.

And I was cheered to find that it resonated with our observations of families that we have met along our way.

Re: Another view of raising a child whilst cruising

Growing up onboard worked out pretty well for Holly Martin (Wind Hippie Sailing)

She is now circumnavigating on her 27' sailboat alone much of the time when not with friends or family.

This episode covers her growing up onboard her parents 25' sailboat. (a Cal 25)

To paraphrase something I read recently:

Because (exposing them to/raising them in) the U.S. public school system is soooooo much better?
