Calendar aging is an arbitrary that several of the old users as well as manufacturers are now finding isn't really real. We shall see how it goes here's hoping.

3 years in full liveaboard and 0% loss of capacity . According to the 2% per year I should have lost 7.5ah just due to aging .

The experience of a single individual's installation should not be extrapolated to what is likely to happen with a large group of installations.

Newhaul, your installation is in the PNW where temperature conditions are pretty moderate year round. Most cruisers tend to stay in the tropics most of the year with the elevated temps that go with that.

If one needs an electric oven, The Remoska is the answer. It's simply a small low powered oven that has just one temperature setting of 180 deg C.

They are available in three sizes, the standard (300W), the Tria (560W) and the Grand (600W). They can do anything that a normal oven can do.

I have the Tria and it's used for bread making just about every second day and its roast veggies and potatoes are divine. I also have an induction hob and a kettle.

Just Google it, there is an agent in most countries.

True enough it has only been in the mid 80°F to mid 90°F for only the last 3 months or so .
But hopefully back in the 70s in the next couple weeks . But once it changes it does get cool fast by mid October it will be in the 50s and colder for 6 months

They do look like a good bit of kit.

I prefer our Breville countertop convection oven / air fryer by a large margin over any other options I found. It outperforms everything in the price class.

The Remoska is a Teflon lined portable oven. We avoid Teflon wherever we can.

Use them regularly on gas, wouldn't be without them.

Aldi sell the Crofton range on occassion, le creuset clones at a small fraction of the price
Crap colours this time, 10 years ago when we got ours they were orange or blue.

Interesting, until I read it needs 20cm all round air space from walls etc so not for us as we don't have the space, hence the air fryer and Remoska to complement the gas hob and grill. However, I like the raised position in the photo rather than under the galley work surface, much easier to see what's going on and to clean it. We have a raised height oven at home for this reason.

Re: Gas v Electric Galley

I mostly grill with the Magma grill on deck, but I do have a large 3 burner Force 10 Electric range and oven. It’s an energy hog but I really like it. Each burner uses about 1200w.

I have 1200AH of Lithium, a Quattro 5kw inverter and 1600W of solar, so I also have the juice to power it.

That looks interesting but I never used one of those. I don’t think a 9” x 13” baking pan will fit, which is the minimum needed for our baking. Also, temperature control is often the big problem with ovens and after some fail buys, we discovered the tests and reviews of America’s Test Kitchen and decided to follow those.

I know a Wolf oven will be great, as well as others that are much more expensive, but the Breville, at $400 was the cheapest option we found to really do what we want. Still 2.5x the price of yours though so if that works for someone then it’s a great buy!

Don't have picture of mine but it's the good old fashioned cast iron no porcelain coating just 120 years of cooking giving it a good season. All I need is the cast iron wok and I'm set for all cooking types.

Yes, we have a whole collection. But for baking bread, we put them in the oven, like it’s supposed to
