No one disputes that (I think).

In dispute is whether criminal actions that Watson and crew have undertaken are the right thing. It shocks me that some sailors actually support the blatant disregard for COLREGs on the high seas.

There are some very legitimate and credible organizations (World Wildlife as an example) that are much more effective in the long run by not being PR whores. My views of Watson/Sea Shepard are not positive.

Avb3 we agree on the opinion of Watson as I have been stiffed by him in the past for unpaid debts.

But looking at the bigger picture and those who have joined the fight....... I believe they are honourable and serve an important function as dedicated environmentalists.

Watson is from my town, my neighbourhood. Was in the the sierra club with my dad. Sailed in the same coast guard I did. He went to my highschool.
When he decided to run down native fisherman. He chose a side.

To the environmentalists it is a fight and their weapon is not guns but confrontation to create public outrage via headlines

When the Chinese Navy rams a Filipino fish boat in the contested South China Sea area.... Nobody talks about COLREGS

The intimidation goes both ways and is a bluffing game of exaggerated spin on both sides.
