We Finally Did It

Yup - after a long search we finally found our boat - a 1979 44' CSY Walkover with a custom pilot house. We closed on her a couple of days ago. She will stay in Charleston for the next couple of months before we move her here to Manteo in the spring. The current plan is to move onto her fulltime in late fall. Thanks in advance for all the advice we'll be getting from y'all.

Re: We Finally Did It

I lived on a CSY 33 for two years. The 44 would be an awesome liveaboard boat! Have a blast, if the chainplates are original just get them replaced…

Well I am absolutely in love with our 37 and the 44's I've been in are beautiful, very solid boats. Congratulations!

Re: We Finally Did It

We were in Manteo a few months back and we'll be passing through once or twice this year. When our kids were 7 & 9 we moved from our solop to a "walkover" ketch. Our "walkover" was a special treat for us in the evenings when we sent our kids to their rooms. This was a great joy for us after years of children in a single area boat!

We'll look for you in Manteo!

Re: We Finally Did It

congratulations and welcome to the csy owners group. small group as less than 400 total (i think) of all sizes were built. but as you will discover they are solid cruisers designed to be easily serviced.

we've had our 37 B plan for ten years now. can't think of any other boat i would ever want.

Re: We Finally Did It

Nice looking pilot house. Does the boat still have the original companion way hatch? Or is the pilot house open to the rest of the interior? Enjoy your new boat!

Congrats! We live in Kitty Hawk. Currently have a Cabo Rico 38 up in Deale, MD. Might sail her down for a few weeks in the summer. Will you take a slip at the Town Docks?
