Newbie or proud new member

Good evening,

I read this fascinating forum often and with great interest.
I have been a sailor all my life but for the last 7 years I became active as an skipper in sailing with yachts.
My sailing areas are European (France - Belgium - England - Netherlands and occasionally Turkey.)
Currently I do not own a yacht but the search has begun. And I guarantee it will take more time than studying to be a yachtman.
Any tips or additional info is always welcome.

Greetings C.

Hi and welcome from Ontario Canada

It sounds as if you have been on enough boats in enough places for enough time to know what you like and don't like.

I would say set a reasonable budget for purchase and extras and then see what you like in that range. You didn't really state your intended plans ie circumnavigation, coastal cruising, day sailing etc. That is sure to factor into your decision.

Keep us posted of your buying adventures

Fair winds

Re: Newbie or proud new member

Thanks,

The idea is to do coastal sailing with occasional longer trips ( 4 people 2-3 weeks) and of course weekend sailingtrips. I would love to travel around the world but that will be a plan in 2031

This is the hardest part knowing what you want.
