Hi everyone!
I'm a middle-aged IT architect/cloud/devops
engineer, originally from
NYC, with dreams of
circumnavigation. I used to sail a bit when I was younger (J24s) and always loved the ocean. I'm starting my five year plan to get experience, get the
family on board, and make this dream a reality.
I've taken
ASA 101/103 and my wife and I are in the planning stages of a learn-to-sail
vacation some time in July in the USVIs. The thought was to do an
ASA 103, 104, 114 series as a
learning vacation to ensure we enjoy the life, don't get seasick (too badly anyway), and can handle ourselves. If all goes well, we'd like to get out on bare-boat charters a few times and eventually get our own
boat.
Looking forward to reading up on this forum and
learning from folks who have been out there.
