My name is Devin and I am a design student from Boston MA. I'm starting a project on a nautical coffee maker and thought this might be a good place to get some info! I do not have much experience sailing, just been out on a few boats and have friends that are enthusiasts. I hope to learn a lot more about sailing here!

I love fresh brewed coffee and it is really a chore sometimes while pitching and rolling at sea. The other consideration is the amount of power needed to heat the water. Boiling water on the galley stove, pouring it through a metal funnel with a #4 coffee basket filler into a large thermos was the last attempt while tossing in a seaway. There has to be a better way.
