Hey guys,

Thought I would introduce myself. I'm relatively new to sailing and completely new to this forum. On the other hand I have spent most of my life boating, diving, fishing and spearfishing.

Had a friend that completed a couple of trips around the world (circumnavigation, I know) and am very interested in doing it myself. I need to start somewhere and within the next few months (around September of this year) I will have the time to do whatever I want. I figure I would like to jump on a boat and do some serious bluewater sailing to get some experience and decide if this is a goal I really want to pursue.

About me: college educated, young, ex-military male. I work in finance but my hobbies dominate my life. I am a competitive freedive spearfisherman and spend every possible moment in the deep blue chasing gamefish like tuna, wahoo, billfish, and mahi. That's what I love to do and a big part of the reason I want to sail.
