Hello Again Y'all

Just wanted to introduce myself a little more. I learned a bit about sailing with my dad growing up on his Cheoy Lee. We spent weekends sailing (well, mostly maintaining the boat) in New Bern, NC. Sadly, my favorite part of sailing when I was younger was being hoisted up the mast to paint it.

I'm interested in following sailing, for some day in the future when I have money, aka after kids go to college.

Hope all is well!

Welcome aboard CF and enjoy..

Kick the kids out now, make them earn their own way and you can start cruising earlier. LOL To bad it's not that easy..

Good luck and hope to hear more from you.

1st kid is only 2.5, not sure she could make it out there on her own, plus she is terribly cute so no kicking out just yet.

welcome Novice,

Keep the cutie and the boat and soon you will have deck swabbers to keep your boat in tip top shape.

Indeed, the future deck swabber is terribly strong for her age, and LOVES to 'help' - we are well on our way

Re: Hello Again Y'all

Our daughter loves to sail. When two, she was in her car-seat, bungie corded to the binnacle (in front of the compass) as we surfed (broad reach) in a 30 foot sloop. At anchor on hot days, she was small enough to be able to cool off in a bucket (and later a storage container) full of water that we kept in the cockpit. Don't wait -- there are many very inexpensive boats out there, and you want to her to grow up 'living the life'.
