'Waterworld' Weather?

I know it's just a movie but in a world where there is nothing but water (waterworld) what would the winds be like? Would they be constant, and strong at certain latitudes and non-existent at others? Curiosity is a terrible thing.

Well since its just a movie and all make believe then the winds, of course, are always Fair.

I always wondered about the humidity!

I dunno about winds, but what would waves be like with unlimited fetch?

You waterworld would likely have tradewinds blowing unobstructed around the world. Nice.

You could circumnavigate without sailing up pirate alley or having to do high latitude sailing. That's my kind of world.

Closest thing we have now is the Southern Ocean. Winds and waves unobstructed, all the way around.

In order to model the climate of your imaginary waterworld, you’d have to specify a multitude of factors, such as:
- composition & depth of water, and diameter of world
- composition & height of atmosphere
- mean temperature
- period of day, and year
and etc ...

A zeroth order estimate of Waterworld, would be a world of idealized Hadley cells, I suppose.

Over the billions of years, the Earth has tried out several radically different continent configurations, with some pretty spectacular global climate results. It's a fun, rich subject to read up on...
