^^^^

That is just so cool! Thanks for posting it.

It has been a long time since he retired, but I still miss GL's daily cartoon. He was (likely still is) a genius of cartoon wit, and brightened many a day for me.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

Gary Larson's humor is unique, sharp and to the point. He has no equal. His jokes were all pictorial, easy to get.

I grew up on "Andy Capp" by Reg Smythe. He was up there with Gary L.

Some people can be funny without trying...

Others try to be funny, but simply don't have it.

I know a lot of jokes, but most wouldn't pass by the Mod's keen eyes

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

Recently, like a woolly mammoth emerging from a melting glacier, “The Far Side”, the single-panel comic that débuted in 1980, and helped make the Reagan era more bearable, reappeared from the mists of time. Its creator, Gary Larson, retired in 1995, after having been syndicated in more than nineteen hundred newspapers, and selling more than forty million books. Then he disappeared almost entirely.
Larson didn’t publish another original “Far Side” cartoon for twenty-five years, until this month, when he published three, online. He’s working in a digital medium now, on a tablet, which has renewed his “sense of adventure,” he wrote. The images are richly colorful, almost painterly, but his style is otherwise the same; his humor is the same.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

You have to wonder about some nautical terms.....
The " head" is classic....to an outsider, it means a roundish object stuck on your shoulders, to a sailor it is his quiet spot.
You would think the " poop" deck would be more suited for a sailor's moment of needs...but no.....instead it is the " head"...

I could spend all afternoon here exploiting this language topic....

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

If I was in 'a hot action with a really malignant enemy firing great guns and small arms' at me rather than finding a solid poop behind me I think it would more likely be a loose stool.

Rather than 'head' I think I prefer the expression 'seats of ease'.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

People who tell you they’re constipated are full of crap.

To everyone out there suffering from constipation …
I sincerely hope you have a really sh*tty day.

Q: What do women/men [pick one] and toilet paper have in common?
A: They both deal with a lot of crap.

I bought a toilet brush yesterday, but I’ve gotta say …
I still prefer toilet paper.

You never really appreciate what you’ve got, until it’s gone.
Toilet paper is a good example.
