The two photos are from Tacloban in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in 2013 with winds up 145mph, hence the debris and palm trees missing fronds. Hence the need to improvise the outrigger canoes, which I believe were made from salvaged refrigerators.

My partner and I found this washed up in Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu NZ last October......thought it was pretty cool

That's a US ship off Vietnam during the evacuation and fall of Saigon. I've seen photos of Blue Ridge and Midway, but probably other ships had the same experience. Not sure which this one is. They ran out of room for helicopters, and on the Midway eventually had to make room for a guy in a single engine prop plane with his family to land, so they started pushing choppers over the side.
