Our son just got accepted to Florida State!!

Completely off topic but as he is the last in the nest it is significant! We are stoked! Now if only the economy will pick up so we can move on the boat!

Congrats Starfish!!! Great news. You are gettin' closer every day! According to our calculations, we could save $1100 a month by moving aboard right now. GO FOR IT!

starfish62,
Congrats--another $100,000 to spend over the next 4 years. How many years of cruising would that amount cover? I do not want to think of the cost of children. Mine are all out of the nest but still cost money. Move on the boat, move on the boat!

Since I'm in Gainesville and went to UF I am sitting here thinking about any number of wisecracks but I'll bite my tongue, be nice and say congratulations (besides my wife did get her masters at FSU).

On the other comment, forget the economy and move onto the boat anyway.

Florida State University

Sorry! Since my husband got his masters there and is an avid fan I just assume that EVERYONE knows the Noles!

Parker has been accepted to the College of Engineering. Mechanical Engineering. Figure he can help us with boat work.

That's an interesting figure, Chris. That is EXACTLY the amount we figured we could save if we moved the boat into a very nice marina and lived aboard--I repeat, a VERY nice marina. We're on a mooring now, but the Admiral has stated that as long as she is working, she is only willing to move onboard if we're in a marina.

So, is anyone interested in a 3brm, 3 bath Townhouse in Abacoa, Florida?

I am pretty sure it was not Florida State Psychiatric Hospital Mark!

Congrats Starfish! I know how hard that road is: Mine is a Junior and we are starting that oh-so expensive process!

Congrats again! I too want to experience that SAME feeling of YES!! She is someplace good!!

He gave us a bit of sweat by waiting until the last possible deadline and only applying at one school but HE GOT IN!!! I was sure he was headed for Community College, which is not the end of the world but would have committed us to land longer. Besides, I think the University experience is a worthwhile one.

The captain wants to ship him off to Europe for the summer but $$$. It is not like the kid has not traveled. He was with us through the Cook Islands, Kingdom of Tonga and Fiji.

We are happy for him!

Ok, Elie! We need a way of identifying which of us is posting. Oh, it really is quite easy. If there are big words that require a dictionary, it is my husband. If there are smileys, its me!

Congratulations on your son's accomplishment. My youngest is set to graduate from Texas Tech in May and we will drink to that.

Actually if you move on the boat and stop working Uncle Sam will end up paying for your sons education. No work = no money = Pell Grants.
