How far have you transported your boat?
I'm supposed to be moving this summer due to my job. The boat is coming with me (or I'd quit!). This will involve trucking the boat an approximate distance of 1600 kilometers. I also had her trucked about 350 kilometers when I bought her.
I've only sailed her about 550 kilometers since I bought her, so it seems a bit odd I'll have put more road miles on than afloat mileage.

Re: How far have you transported your boat?
I've never transported. But I'm getting ready to truck it about 300 miles. The cost is getting to me, and with it 350 miles away I am not keeping it up. It needs a lot of work. So, I'm bringing it up to a lake about 15 minutes from my house. I'll keep it here for a few years, with the intent of getting it back to big water later.

Re: How far have you transported your boat?
I bought my boat in Boston. So I had to borrow a truck and flatbed trailer to go get her. Around 2200 miles round trip. Cost me about $2,000 by the time it was all said and done. Crane, gas, motel, two trailer tires in New York state, it all adds up quickly.

Re: How far have you transported your boat?
I live in Iowa and have bought my cruising boats in: 1 in Minnesota, 2 in Florida and 1 in the Caribbean. I've transported 2 of them over 1,000 miles on a few occasions each.

Re: How far have you transported your boat?
It's roughly 120 miles (190 km) from where I have my boat hauled/launched to where I sometimes store the boat for the winter and to work on it, e.g. home (other times it's only about 5km from haul/launch to storage shed -- just depends on where I choose to store her for the winter). So over the last 4 years or so, my boat has travelled a bit over 600 miles over the road (with another 120 mile trip coming up in May).
