I wish I could agree with you Harry: ...this society of ours we are defined by what we do .... PRIMARILY. If one puts roofs on houses, one is a "roofer". If one drives a bus, one is a "bus driver". If one is in the banking business, one is a "banker"....

But it must be different here in the UK: I grew up on a farm - no one called me 'Farmer Bob' I used to build things - nobody called me 'Bob the Builder' (well only as a joke) and now I sail a boat - nobody calls me 'Bob the Cruiser'. But...

Seriously though; I still have a house and even work most winters, but I consider myself a 'Cruiser' on the basis that whilst I know where I intend to be a week from today, it really doesn't matter if I'm somewhere completey different. But that's just what suits me I think anyone can be a Cruiser who wants to be; just set the parameters that suit you and enjoy.

As mentioned earlier, "Cruising" is a frame of mind. I "cruise" on my Harley up and down the West Coast. "Cruise" on my Ketch in the same direction, only on water. It's all about freedom and the adventure to step off the merry-go-round and enjoy the values of risk/reward.

Yep, cruising is a frame of mind. And I kinda figure that anyone who is too hung up on who is or isn't a cruiser, well, they probably ain't one.
