Another option to consider would be a cell phone extender/repeater. If you have a decent plan whose limits you can live within, that could end up being more reliable and would often perform better. Plus, coverage is getting better all the time.

In my experience fast, reliable WiFi is a rare treat, and certainly something I'd use, but not something I would count on being able to find, extender or not.

Before you jump to T-Mobile make sure you check the realized coverage in your area. Check with other T-Mobile customers near you first. For example it's so bad near the shore on the Chesapeake BAY that in many areas they have to supply signal boosters to residents. Out on the Bay it's just about non-existent!

Hmmmm that's something very interesting that I hadn't even thought of!
