What are you spending on insurance in 2022?

Just trying to get a ballpark of what insurance might cost on a 40' Leopard Cat in the Caribbean. I understand there are a ton of factors...but if folks could post their general scenario and costs, that would be great.

wouldn't be easier and more worth your time to request a quote for a company or 2?

Re: What are you spending on insurance in 2022?

We average ~1% of Agreed Value [mild to mid 6 figures] on an All Risk policy with comprehensive Consequential Loss coverage [not to mention liability coverage at sea and for us on shore...]

If you are interested, more details about our marine insurance strategies and choices [as consumers...] are available on this one page write-up.

Cheers! Bill

Fully insured 1.4 % of agreed value, only limits are : not racing, no commercial use, up to 400 Nm offshore, but going further offshore separate arrangement is negotiated.

1.5% assessed value coastal only right now. Separate riders negotiated for offshore work depending on region. $5k deductible. All perils.

SO FRUSTRATING! Trying to get insurance - don't know where to turn. We don't have a ton of experience - never owned a catamaran. Where do newbies go?????

Re: What are you spending on insurance in 2022?

I think you just pointed it out what the underwriters have realized. Insurance is trending that catamarans are a higher risk pool. 30% of our premium is "catamaran". GEICO may offer a policy at 4%.
