Testing the waters

I used to sail in Puget Sound 20 years ago, crewing on different sized boats for races. I am now thinking to get back into sailing by getting a boat to live aboard. It was a dream at the time and now circumstances might make it possible. I'm planning to take a few sailing classes and hopefuling do some crewing before making the final decision to go boat to make sure it's still as I remember. My question is - how difficult is it to get a live aboard slip in Sf bay and what marinas are recommended?

Welcome to the community and good luck with your goals. The anwer would be and easy,"yes, many options" here in the Southeast US, but I hear of waiting lists in the San Francisco Bay area. Your fortunate to have a number of members here from the Bay area that will give you some good advice.
