For any aspect of the transaction that falls under related Guatemalan law then Raul Morales (Servimar) is an excellent agent in Livingston. FB page with contact info:

However, Raul cannot help you with aspects of the tranascation that fall outside of Guatemala, such as transfering registration from/to another country. There are loads of USA based agents who can handle whatever ownership/registration transfer you need to make, regardless of countries involved, but I dont have a current recommendation.

I was based on the Rio for many years.

What do you mean by "get involved"?

I guess most things involved with boat research & purchase, viewing facilities, surveyor, accommodation, getting to Rio etc.
